Nautilus is a Montessori ecosystem rooted in important corporate settings and open to the local community.
Its mission is to offer children high-quality education in a pleasant, accessible environment while their parents are at work, helping create a more sustainable and conscious future.
Nautilus’s identity is built on six principles that define its schools’ approach anywhere in the world:authentic Montessori, there for working parents, naturally bilingual, fostering wellbeing
, an Italian universe, truly sustainable.
Authentic Montessori
One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child
— Maria Montessori
The Montessori method is based on the scientific assumption that children are naturally good and curious and engage instinctively in targeted activities that help them grow in a supportive environment. Giving children freedom and support allows them to follow their interests while creating valuable learning experiences, helping each other, and learning from each other. At Nautilus, we are all trained to support children’s natural development and prepare the classrooms to achieve this.
There for working parents
It takes a village to raise a child.
– Proverb
Today’s families need support to manage their children’s education. Our schools are located within company premises, allowing families to achieve a better work-life balance while staying actively involved in every milestone of their children’s development.
Naturally bilingual
The child’s sensibility to absorb language is so great that he can acquire foreign languages at this age
— Maria Montessori
The perfect moment to acquire language is during the first language development period from birth to six years of age. This is also the best time to acquire a second language naturally without conscious efforts. In Montessori environments, children absorb spoken language by associating the words they hear with the tasks they’re performing, and the bilingual environment allows them to learn a second language effortlessly.
Fostering wellbeing
It was my concern not only to nourish the child but to connect this primal necessity with an educational.
– Antico proverbio
We believe it is our duty to take care of children’s wellbeing, ensuring that school is a place where to find a restorative environment. This concept is expressed in Plena, our philosophy blending the latest technologies with thousands of years of healing wisdom. Guided by the principles of homeopathy and naturopathy, our doctor and wellness expert supports us in creating nutrition programmes for our kitchen and salt rooms to improve breathing and in giving families personalised wellness advice.
An Italian universe
It is beauty in all its forms that helps the inner self grow.
— Maria Montessori
The Montessori method is universal by nature. However, we cannot forget where Maria Montessori and the concept of Nautilus schools come from—Italy. This cultural heritage is expressed in an outlook on life inspired by the beauty of art and nature. And this Italian touch can be found in all Nautilus schools, in the furnishings, Montessori materials, the uniforms, and even in the food. Every morning, the aroma of freshly baked bread wafts out of our kitchen. Every meal is made solely with local, seasonal ingredients. We also involve children in practical activities like growing vegetables in our Horto garden and cooking classes with our chef, who shows them how traditional Italian recipes are made. All this makes them perceive the importance of origin and value and prepares them for the next curriculum (ages 6-12), i.e., Cosmic Education.
Truly sustainable
The land is where our roots are. The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with the earth.
– Antico proverbio
Since we focus on the most delicate plane of development (ages 0-6), we constantly ask ourselves what we can do to preserve the environment for future generations. How can we make children understand the value of our planet’s resources? How can we learn to share them with local communities to ensure mutual prosperity? What route do we want to take with parents participating in our mission? How can we use our hosting company’s supply chain to promote progressive social and environmental practices? What partnerships do we want to build to tackle urgent issues like climate change? All these questions and children’s genuine curiosity give life to Cyclus, our sustainability philosophy.
Nautilus is the brainchild of AMF S.p.A., an Italian company that has been manufacturing high-quality accessories for over 30 years. AMF has always been committed to building a fair and sustainable world through their choices and imagination. If you think about it, who has more imagination than a child who observes the world and learns to care for it?
