Despite Italy’s tendency to minimise its own records, we’re proud that Nautilus is based here, the most virtuous country when it comes to recycling.
At our schools, children play an active role in this initiative. At the heart of our Ecotopia curriculum are the Eco-Centres, i.e., spaces where an ecological utopia comes to life within the walls of our Nautilus school.
We aim to teach children the importance of recycling by showing them that, when managed properly, waste can be transformed into amazing new and useful objects.
Ortocosmo
Growing vegetables
“The land is where our roots are. The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with the earth”, as Maria Montessori used to say.
Gardening is an excellent way for children to connect with nature and nurture living beings. Children get to watch life emerge from a tiny seed and grow into a beautiful plant, developing their sense of responsibility.
Our Ortocosmo philosophy connects cookery with the origins of each ingredient. This way, children are introduced to Cosmic Education, an essential part of their development between ages 6 and 12.
Minima
Sustainable actions
Our schools need resources, but our host companies need them even more. As part of our school opening process, our EP&L experts evaluate potential partners by assessing their carbon and water footprint.
Nautilus strives to be an ecosystem of carbon-neutral schools, starting from small actions children can get involved in, like window management, careful natural resource consumption, and Nautibus, our electric shuttle service.
Ludica
Our “re-toys”
Circular economy is one of the pillars of our sustainable journey. Nautilus toys’ life never ends. Thanks to the Ludica project, we collect damaged materials, regenerate them, and then put them in use again.
We also take spare parts from toys that can no longer be used and transform them into something new, giving children a chance to get creative with reuse.
Sustainability is a journey that evolves over time.
Our Journal is meant to be a logbook of this wonderful and vital mission.
